Cranbourne

Sam Berriman was the superintendent at Huntingdale for many years and amongst his many Victorian designs, including Keysborough and Horsham, was Cranbourne.

We have consulted at the club for close to twenty years and made a number of small changes including rebuilding tees, rebuilding bunkers and generally accentuating the sandbelt characteristics of one of Melbourne’s most underrated courses.  The most recent change has been the most significant, with the addition of the new par 3, 14th hole.  It replaced the old 17th but its inclusion into the layout has made for a much better routing by tying the 13th green to the 15th tee and eliminating the one-hundred and fifty metre walk.

It’s a typical sandbelt par three and more importantly, one which looks like Berriman made it himself.
