Special Olympics Golf Challenge
I’ve received an email from Special Olympics Australia’s National Manager of Sponsorship & Fundraising, David Streichler, to invite golfers to join this great event in Sydney on Nov. 17. See the email and links below and we hope to see you there!
“As you know I’ve arranged a major golf challenge and any assistance in getting the attached to your contacts especially to your golfing colleagues / clients would be a real help as the event will be a huge success but just needs the support.
We have a major Golf Challenge aimed at individuals and companies on November 17 with a max number of 72 players to raise much needed funds and need to secure obviously players but sponsors as well at Riverside Oaks, in Sydney. The event format is unique and my research hasn’t shown up anything similar.
The funds raised will be for a hardship fund to not only build additional regions to help these inspirational individuals but also further developing existing ones and to also support athletes with an intellectual disability selected later this year to represent Australia at the World Games in LA in 2015 which today was announced will be shown on ESPN for the first time. We believe app 25% will struggle financially with many of our families single income families.
At the moment support has come from Golf Australia, PGA, Golf Link, Coke, Srixon, Adam Scott Foundation, Loudmouth Golf, Tabasco, Timex, Drummond Golf, Investorlink, with others being secured.
The event is $300 pp to play but that includes breakfast, carts, drinks on course all day, sit down lunch, sit down dinner and plenty of prizes. The 2nd phase is that each player commits to raise $800 which is tax deductable as we set up a fundraising page so that friends etc can donate to any playing directly . Sponsors receive automatic registrations and don’t require the fundraising component.
Thanks so much for your time as always Peter and if there was some way you could assist it would be much appreciated.
